Hey there, reader. You may have noticed that the blog’s been a bit quiet recently. As you may know, I’m heading to Italy with my husband later this week (!!!!!!) and although it is very, VERY exciting, life is a bit hectic at the moment and I haven’t been able to devote as much time as I’d like to Devour.
I just wanted to let it be known that I may be MIA from the blog for the next few weeks while I’m away. I may have the time/energy/drive to post some food-related vacation photographs while I’m away, but I don’t want to make any promises. Rest assured that when I return early next month I will flood your inboxes and feeds with scrumptious Italian-inspired recipes.
If you’re curious, we’re heading to Rome, Venice and Florence – a total cliche “first-time-in-Italy” itinerary, I know, but I couldn’t live with myself if I skipped any of those 3 places. I’ve spent a huge chunk of my adult life in architectural education studying those very places, so I’m willing to brave the crowds and travel the well-beaten path.
We may take a day trip or two… I have my eye on Siena, Verona, San Gimignano, the Cinque Terre and (obviously) Tuscan wine country in general. I know that we’ll have to narrow down that list (or else risk spending our entire vacation on a bus or a train), but those are the current front runners. I mean, it would be great to visit Naples, Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast, Milan, the Dolomites…. Sadly we have limited time, and Italy has so much to offer.
I simply cannot wait, and I am beyond excited to share my experiences with you here when I get home.
Thanks for reading! Arrivederci!
(PS – If you have any restaurant/attraction/other recommendations, I will happily accept them!)
